Why Act Your Age? by Wendy Osserman & Aniyah Simone with the Dazzling Dancers
The Old Theater invites you to an afternoon of choreography that explores artistic expression and feelings through the rigors of dance, movement and music. Wendy Osserman makes her own blend of movement, sharing her methods and style with Oriental friends Cheryl Blackerby, Chris Doty, Katherine Garcia, Sheila Gould and Susan Vanmeter. Osserman is no stranger to the stages of New York City as well as theaters in New Bern and The Old Theater. The Wendy Osserman Dance Company was recently presented by Theater for the New City in Manhattan where they performed Laminaria with the Concetta Ensemble of ten musicians.
Aniyah Simone, fierce and fiery, is inspired by various cultures and dance styles from Africa to the Caribbean, New Orleans and Latin America. As founder, CEO and director of Dazzling Dancers Inc., she has taught these to her young students and performed with them in numerous venues throughout Eastern North Carolina.
A delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, either May 7th or May 14th at 3pm. Appropriate for all ages and children under six are admitted free.
"There is a kind of magic, a sense of being taken to a place you might never visit again." - The New York Times
