Event Description

Join the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and Allegheny CleanWays at the dirtiest volunteer event in town on Tuesday, June 23rd and Thursday, June 25th. Help us clean Lake Elizabeth for all to enjoy this summer season.

The Parks Conservancy and Allegheny CleanWays staff will be on site with the volunteers. The Department of Public Works staff will do their portion of the work on alternating days so there is more space for social distancing.

Due to COVID – 19 we will be capping event registrations at 25 people and will be holding two events, June 23rd from 9am-12pm and June 25 from 9am-12pm.

Participants are asked to bring their own tools/gloves and wear masks during the event. The Parks Conservancy and Allegheny CleanWays will have extra gloves and tools on site but we are trying to limit the amount of sharing that takes place.

Please note – there will be no refreshments provided this year out of an abundance of safety. We will, however, have water bottles on site. We do encourage participants to bring their own reusable water bottles as well.

Participants will be asked to sign a waiver on site before being allowed to participant in the event.

Eligibility: Before participating in a Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy volunteer event, volunteers must acknowledge that in the past two weeks they have not come in contact with any individual known or suspected of having Covid-19. Additionally, staff and volunteers must acknowledge that they have not traveled internationally within the last two weeks. If so, the individual must complete a two-week self-isolation period, at the end of which display no symptoms before being eligible to participate.

Personal Protective Equipment:
In accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health Guidelines, all volunteers must wear a face mask while attending a volunteer event. Volunteers are required to bring their own facemark. Additionally, non-sterile gloves will be provided and there will be hand sanitizer provided.

If you have or are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone known or suspected to have COVID-19, please stay home from today’s event. We would love to have you with us, but your and everyone else’s health and safety is far more important!
