THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT / The Music Gallery's Rush List Policy will be in effect.
A braid of dance and music exploring the intricacies of texture in nature.
While night three of X Avant XIX: TeXture splits into two separate features of movement and later sound, both converge to reveal the spectrums and geometries that lay within nature. Following the sunset for the second part of the night, Rafael Toral blends ambient, experimental electronics, and rock via electric guitar to create spaces for silence. Focused on disconnecting listeners from information and sensory overload, he encourages reconnection with sacredness, presence, and the land.
Opening the evening in our gallery room is a looped audio and dance presentation by artist Nyda Kwasowsky exploring textile, tradition, and sound.
Rafael Toral and Nyda Kwasowsky's performances are the second part of the evening, and it is a ticketed event.
Doors at 8:00 pm
Performance at 8:30 pm
If you want to start your evening at the Music Gallery earlier, you may also register for Weave, Part 1 for free or by donation. The first part of the night features Mossbelly with a movement-based performance that opens the night (doors 5:30 pm, performance at 6:00 pm).
You can attend the full festival (6 events) by purchasing a festival pass!
Mood: Patter, Air, Slip & Slide
Rush Line & No-Show Policy: Sometimes our shows sell out, and that can be a bummer for folks who didn’t get a ticket. We’ve developed a new ticketing policy that apply to advance ticket holders and those wanting tickets to ensure a fair, transparent process for releasing additional tickets to a sold-out show. Please read our full policy here.
Ticketing: Our new ticket type invites you to Pay What You Can Afford (PWYCA) which means that you can choose an appropriate level and where possible, help to offset community members attending at a discounted rate. Levels are decided by you based upon your income and financial flexibility and are not verified at the door.
