Weave / Part 1

A braid of dance and music exploring the intricacies of texture in nature.

While night three of X Avant XIX: TeXture splits into two separate features of movement and later sound, both converge to reveal the spectrums and geometries that lay within nature. The first part of the night features Mossbelly offering gestures of dance and performance that gently tap, pitter-patter, and slide across the floor in reverence to a fuzzy friend from nature. This intergenerational performance is a choreographic meditation on our human connection to land, plant life, nature, and time. 

Admission to Mossbelly (Weave, Part 1) is free or by donation. Advance registration is available.

Late Arrival Policy for this event: Doors are at 5:30 pm. The event will start at 6:00pm, and we will allow a short grace period of 5 minutes. The performance will begin promptly at 6:05 pm, at which point, at the artists' request, late arrivals will not be admitted (including those who have RSVPd). Please be sure to arrive on time in order to participate in the full event.

As Mossbelly’s performance opens the night, if you want to spend the full evening with the Music Gallery be sure to get your tickets for Weave, Part 2 featuring Rafael Toral and Nyda Kwasowsky (doors at 8:00 pm, performance at 8:30 pm).

Ticketing: Our new ticket type invites you to Pay What You Can Afford (PWYCA) which means that you can choose an appropriate level and where possible, help to offset community members attending at a discounted rate. Levels are decided by you based upon your income and financial flexibility and are not verified at the door.
