Symposium
Organized in conjunction with the exhibition Fatimah Tuggar: Home’s Horizons, this symposium brings together scholars, artists, technologists, and Wellesley College students to present new critical perspectives on Fatimah Tuggar’s multimedia practice. The event features talks, tours, and interactive workshops organized over two days. Free and open to the public.
Elin Noble is a nationally and internationally known textile artist and dyer. She graduated with a BFA in textiles from the University of Washington in Seattle. From 1992-1996 Elin was Lab Manager at PRO Chemical & Dye, a dye distributor in Fall River, Massachusetts.
She is author of the 1998 award winning book, Dyes & Paints: A Hands-On Guild to Coloring Fabric. She has appeared on PBS, and lectured and conducted workshops across North America, The Netherlands, Hungary,and Japan.
Elin has exhibited her cloth and quilts nationally and internationally. Earlier this year she was featured in the 2019 Fiber Art Fair, Seoul, South Korea and in the summer she was featured in the exhibition, Garden of Eden, in Haslach, Austria. Elin has exhibited widely, including Canada, the United States, Mexico, Japan, Hungary, and China. For the month of September 2018 she was artist-in-resident at Thurup Hus, Assens, Denmark.
She lives and maintains a studio in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
