Voices of Women: Lineage

Lineage features Concentio, Chamber choir and Via, with a guest appearance from our women’s choir, Women of Song. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, we will be honoring women who have laid the foundation upon which we continue to build.
This concert features the poetry of Emily Dickinson and Sara Teasdale, two great American poets who found beauty in this world in spite of their circumstances. Lineage continues with works based on the powerful words of the young Hellen Keller, Anne Frank and Malala – young women whose stories inspire us to journey through life with courage and joy.

The final set of the performance includes Andrea’s Ramsey’s “Lineage” celebrating the strength of our grandmothers and Rosephanye Powells’ “Still I Rise”.
