TKA Theatre Company will present the iconic musical "West Side Story," a timeless tale that captivates audiences with its powerful story and unforgettable music. This modern retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is set in the vibrant streets of 1950s New York City, where the tensions between the rival street gangs, the Jets, and the Sharks, provide the backdrop for the poignant love story of Tony and Maria. In their world filled with prejudice, violence, and societal expectations, the love story of two young individuals shines brightly. "West Side Story" continues to resonate with audiences today, through its dynamic choreography, stirring musical numbers, and emotionally charged performances.
