PITTSBURGH, PA, April 14, 2010—Pittsburgh comedy fans once again have the opportunity to laugh loudly and often while providing much-needed help to the hungry in the Pittsburgh area.

Matt Wohlfarth, a Pittsburgh-based comedian and comedy writer, announces that Comedy Relief Pittsburgh X: Mayday for the Food Bank will be held on Saturday, May 1 at Diesel Pittsburgh, 1601 E. Carson Street on the South Side. This year’s show is the tenth installment of his annual series of shows to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

This year, two shows are scheduled—at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Admission is $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door, and tickets are available at www.showclix.com.

Headliner at both shows will be Eddie Brill (www.eddiebrill.com), a New York-based stand-up comedian with numerous television and comedy club credits who serves as talent coordinator and audience warm-up comic for The Late Show with David Letterman.

WDVE radio personality Sean McDowell will serve as emcee of the 6:30 p.m. show and Wohlfarth will emcee the 8:30 p.m. show. Brill will headline both.

In addition to Brill, McDowell and Wohlfarth, several of the Pittsburgh area’s funniest comics will appear on the bills. Also performing will be two recent graduates of the University of Funny, a stand-up comedy teaching workshop that was launched and taught by Wohlfarth this past winter.
