Event Description
Dan Bern

WUKY Presents LIVE @ Natasha's
Dan Bern is a wildly imaginative troubadour whose difficult-to-pigeonhole music has been described in the New York Times as "topical-political-poetical-sarcastic-punk-folk." Dan's great free-form poetic lyrics and the power of his raging tenor generate laughter and controversy (often at the same time) as he veers from comedy to anger, conjecture to shaggy-dog stories, with side trips to theology, science fiction, consumer culture, love, art, and baseball.

The Iowa native has spent his adult years traveling the country, writing hundreds of songs, and captivating an ever-expanding audience with his powerfully unpredictable, thought-provoking performances. Dan has released numerous albums, including many EPs of his rousing topical songs; his most recent CD, Two Feet Tall, is a kids' album. Some of Dan's songs are also featured prominently in the recent film Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

Opening Act: Bill Mallonee
Paste Music Magazine listed Bill Mallonee (formerly of Vigilantes of Love) as #65 in their list of "Top 100 Living Songwriters." Rolling Stone Magazine called his writing "compelling" and "insightful."
