Throttle Time & Firing Time | Steam in the Valley

Climb aboard, whistle off, and become the engineer of restored Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive no. 765! All proceeds benefit the ongoing maintenance and operation of this historic, living time machine!

- 30 minutes of Throttle Time: $999.00
- 30 minutes of Firing Time: $299.00

Each Throttle Time Session includes:
- 3 miles running forward
- 3 miles running backward
- 5 car train
- Up to 15MPH

Participants will observe and receive instruction and operate the 765 for approximately 30 minutes at speeds up to 15MPH. Participants can also add 30 minutes in the fireman’s seat. All participants must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license and be in good health. No guests will be permitted in the cab. Friends and families members may watch departure and arrival at Fitztwater Yard.
