Three Divas Charlotte Brandes MELODRAMA

This year's George and Elie Warburg concerts of the Four Nations Ensemble is focused on three Divas, muses to composers and librettists of the 18th Century. Our second is dedicated to Charlotte Brandes, actress, singer and composer.  She was an inspiration to pre-romantic composers and the star of the melodrama in Germany.  Surrounded by composers who adored the melodramtic.  Works by CPE Bach, Janitsch, Benda and arias of Graun and Hasse.
