Having left behind New York City’s jagged cityscape for the mountains of Denver’s skyline, indie rock band The Still Tide has at last found a place to call home. Written and recorded in the aftermath of the move, their latest EP Half Empty Rooms refracts the grit and urgency of city life through the lens of Colorado’s clean air and open space, creating “… a little sweet spot where indie rock, shoegaze and folk rock all intersect” (Blurt Online). After its release in March of 2015, a solid follow-up to their previous record Tinder (2013), the group took their seasoned and luminous sound on the road, touring the east coast and Europe for several months.
Since their departure from Brooklyn, they’ve shared stages with Kaki King, John Vanderslice, Angel Olsen and Pure Bathing Culture among many others and have been featured on Daytrotter, Colorado Public Radio’s Open Air and Denver Open Media’s live studio sessions. This last summer they played to packed rooms at Denver’sUnderground Music and Westword Music showcases and were selected collaborators for the city’s celebrated Reykjavik Calling event.
Currently, longstanding bandmates Jacob Miller (Anthony Ruptak, The Kissing Club) and Anna Morsett (Ark Life, These United States) have been hard at work expanding and developing the project with the help of their talented friends and will begin work on a new record this winter.
