9:45am - Introduction by Symposium founding Director, Theresa M. Barbo
10:00 am – The Gems of Vineyard Sound: Elizabeth Islands, 1641 & Beyond
with Ian Ives, Executive Director of Massachusetts Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary.
11:00 am – The Nautical Yuletide: 90 Years of New England’s Flying Santa Program to Support Coast Guard Families with Tom Guthlein Chief Warrant Officer, USCG (Ret.).
12:00 pm – Luncheon and explore Museum exhibits, gardens & trails
1:00 pm – Around the World with Barnstable’s Mad Jack Percival: The U.S.S. Constitution Circles the Globe, 1844-1846 with Robert J. Allison, Professor of History, Suffolk University.
2:00 pm – A Very Fine Place If the Harbor Were Good: Samuel de Champlain’s 1605 Exploration of Cape Cod with Bill Burke, Cultural Resources Program Manager, Cape Cod National Seashore.
Admission is $25 includes morning refreshments, 4 lectures, lunch and Museum Admission.
