Aiyi Shao is an heiress and owner of a Shanghai nightclub. Ernest Reismann is a Jewish refugee piano player. Together they make Aiyi’s nightclub the hottest spot in Shanghai in 1940. As the war escalates, Ernest and Aiyi find themselves torn apart, and their choices between love and survival grow desperate.
