UNIQUE CHARACTERS with Seth K. Thomas
Sat August 15th 1 – 3pm PST
Part of Our Summer Workshop Series
Viola Spolin taught “the techniques of the theater are the techniques of communicating.” In this synthesized version of his popular Second City Chicago course, Seth Thomas of The Defiant Thomas Brothers teaches useful techniques for developing unique characters. Seth will work with performers to isolate postures, gestures, and movement patterns to create characters that are ready to play.
SETH K. THOMAS BIO
Seth K. Thomas is a comedian who writes and performs comedy in the form of improv,
sketch and stand-up. Originally from Oakland, California Seth is a graduate of the theater
program at Clark Atlanta University and a graduate of the Improvisation and Conservatory
programs at The Second City, Chicago. Seth was one half of the award winning comedy
duo The Defiant Thomas Brothers and the creator of The 70 a character building technique
created specifically for improvisers. Seth currently resides in Los Angeles where he
produces his own YouTube web series Pontificate On That, attempts to learn dances on Tik
Tok and watches The Hills like it’s new. CIWYW
