Stephen Inglis is one of Hawaii's great slack key guitar singer-songwriters. A protege of the late Dennis Kamakahi, Stephen is versed in Hawaiian history and music traditions. He also sometimes applies his slack key skills in the folk genre, making interesting interpretations of Dylan and Grateful Dead songs. His guitar skills shine in the jam improvisations too, and he has a special rapport with Peter deAquino who is hosting this show.
Grammy winning slack key master George Kahumoku Jr hosts the show and features his traditional style of Hawaiian music on his signature 12-string slack key guitar.
Peter deAquino, George's protege, is a skilled ukulele artist who has also expanded into slack key guitar. He has been with the show for our entire 19 years and his stage charisma is legendary. Max Angel, another major personality, will co-host showing off his musical skills as well as his knowledge of Hawaiian language and culture. The lovely Wainani Kealoha punctuates the show with beautiful hula. Sterling and JJ jump into the final jam session adding more lively fun to the improvisations.
