Spring Seeding Event and Invasive Vine Removal Demo
In collaboration with TEAC (Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Committee)
Join us for a free spring event to learn about sustainable landscaping work being done in the historic landscape in your backyard. Visit the Lyndhurst rose garden for an invasive vine removal demo and hands-on learning opportunity, as part of restoration work happening there. Followed by native seed potting on the Welcome Center patio (families welcome). Take home extra pollinator-friendly annual seeds and select native seeds to jump-start your spring garden!
Schedule:
10am: Beginning in the Welcome Center. Lyndhurst’s Curator of Historic Landscapes presents a look at work being done in the landscape, combatting invasive plants, with a focus on upcoming restoration projects.
10:30am: Invasive vine removal demo in the rose garden. This is an opportunity for hands-on learning. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking outdoors.
11am-12pm: Spring seeding event presented by TEAC. Return to the carriage house for a hands-on potting activity on the patio.
Please bring a small pot to pot up your seeds!
Seeds and soil will be provided.
Event begins promptly at 10am. Please arrive about 15 minutes early to give yourself time to check in and find your seat.
Check In at the Welcome Center.
Show your ticket at the Front Gate and they will direct you to the Welcome Center.
Come prepared to be outside! In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place only in the Welcome Center.
