Rosarian Talk with Peter Winne

Join us for an interesting and informative discussion led by rose expert Peter Winne!

Peter Winne is the former head gardener at Elizabeth Park in Hartford, CT, home of the nation's oldest public rose garden. He learned the craft of rose gardening under acclaimed New York Botanical Gardens rosarian Stephen Scanniello. Today, he runs Peter Winne Gardens, an ecological landscape design company focusing on unique and historic properties in central Connecticut. Peter will present an informative program on organic rose care, covering everything from planting and pruning to training roses, all without chemical inputs. From home gardeners to aspiring rosarians, audience members will learn how to grow healthy roses and care for them with confidence.  

These tickets do not include access to the Mansion.

Grounds Passes for Rose Weekend are required to enter the property.
