Newark-based Hamill Realty developed the land surrounding Robert and Edith Rodgers’ north-end mansion – now Littleton & Rue Funeral Home – as Rodgers Place in 1910. They ran advertisements in local newspapers targeting emerging middle-class families with language like, “Invest your money in one or more lots… you will be rich before you know it!”.
