SNFL is proud to present An Unquiet Mind as part of the 17th Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York. Renowned for its wide-ranging international film selection and riveting conversations, the festival is the world's largest showcase of accessible and inclusive cinema. An Unquiet Mind is an intimate look at OCD beyond common stereotypes, following two individuals as they navigate daily life and build understanding about lesser-known aspects of the condition.
An Unquiet Mind (2024)
Dir. Rachel Immaraj | Documentary | English | 75 min | Content Advisory: graphic depictions of suicide, violence, & sexual imagery.
Shattering common myths about OCD through the interweaving stories of Vinay and Natasha, a reality far more complex than perfectionism or repetition is revealed. As the camera follows their daily lives at work and home, we witness their raw struggles with intrusive thoughts and difficulty relating their experiences to others. Through intimate, honest moments, Vinay and Natasha illuminate the hidden reality of OCD, while sparking crucial conversations about mental health and the vital role of community support.
To join the event in-person | Doors will open 30 minutes before the program begins. For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission. All registered seats are released shortly before start time, and seats may become available at that time. A standby line will form 30 minutes before the program.
