- Details
Join Diamonstein-Spielvogel Fellow Victoria Baena and NYPL Curator of Maps, History, and Government Information Ian Fowler for a wide-ranging conversation on literature, maps, and their respective strategies in constructing a sense of place. Baena will introduce her book-in-progress on the idea of “the provinces” in 19thcentury literature, before turning with Fowler to a selection of cartographic materials drawn from the Library’s collections.
A Q&A will follow; attendees will also have the chance to take a look at these artifacts themselves.

The Center for Research in the Humanities welcomes everyone to join the conversation between curators, librarians, and researchers, as they discuss new scholarship and projects, research methods, and the Library's rich collections and resources. Each of these conversations takes place in the Lenox and Astor Room, Room 216.
