We are delighted that you are interested in taking the California Tower tour! Please note the following information and conditions:

• Facemasks are required for the duration of your visit to the Museum and Tower


• Handrails and other surfaces throughout the museum are frequently sanitized for your safety


• The California Tower tour is a private tour for up to six (6) people.


• You must arrive at the Museum at least 10 minutes before your tour starts to stow your items and to go over and sign a waiver. Tours will not wait for you and you will not be allowed to join a tour that has already begun. If you are late, you will not able to join your tour, and your ticket will not be refunded or exchanged.


• For safety, no children under age 6 are allowed in the Tower.


• An adult, who is responsible for the children’s safety, must accompany children ages 6 to 13.


• To climb the California Tower, you must physically be able to ascend and descend 125 steps within a 40-minute period, including 10 to 15 minutes on the viewing deck. The Tower is not recommended for women who are pregnant or for patrons with heart, knee, or back problems, or other physical conditions that may be made worse by climbing stairs. If you are unsure, whether you are able to climb the tower, please talk to your doctor before clicking "I agree" and buying a ticket.


• Each person climbing the California Tower will be required to sign a waiver before the tour. A parent or legal guardian must also sign the waiver for anyone under the age of 18.


• Please wear comfortable, flat footwear to climb the California Tower.

The California Tower tour goes up to the first viewing deck of the tower. It does not include the second and third viewing decks, which are the top two levels of the tower, as they have not had additional safety features added.
