PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE BY THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH BUREAU OF POLICE:
To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite entry into the event, we will implement a policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the event.
The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh strongly encourages attendees to not bring any type of bags to the event. Attendees will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container into the event:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 8.5” x 11” x 5.”
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the event with one of the clear plastic bag options.
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, outside beverages, chairs, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
Smaller items that CAN be carried into the the event, such as binoculars, cameras, and smart phones will continue to be allowed.
This public safety measure is being successfully used at other large venues/events with much success.
Working personnel, including media, will continue to enter our events through designated gates where they will be subject to screening and bag inspections already in effect for our events.
In recent years the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh has enhanced its comprehensive safety plans with the additional measures such as pat downs and bag checks. We have consulted with our local, state and national law-enforcement partners as well as industry experts to develop these plans. These guidelines have been prepared to make sure that the Delta Foundation’s events continue to be safe and secure for everyone.
