PopRally Presents: TEN

PopRally is turning one decade young, and you’re invited to the best TENth birthday party you’ve never been to.

TEN is a unique, interactive party that takes place throughout the entire Museum—in the galleries, the Sculpture Garden, and spaces in between—for one night only. Come for full open bars and snacks, stay for cutting-edge DJ sets and bespoke musical environments courtesy of Boiler Room, all while engaging in a mysterious, sweeping game paying tribute both to Fluxus history and modern game design. Conceived in collaboration with our friends at Recess, TEN invites you to channel your childhood ingenuity and create your own new intimate, unexpected experience of The Museum of Modern Art.

Leave all preconceived notions at the door and prepare to receive your instructions for the party in the form of a loose, intriguing prompt [sampled above] corresponding to one of over a dozen original artist interventions. As you explore the Museum with your instructions in mind, you will discover diverse, contemporary artists and collectives animating the Museum’s known and unknown spaces as part of the all-encompassing game.

PopRally is a series of events at MoMA and MoMA PS1 that serve as a gateway for young and diverse audiences to engage with the Museum. Led by a cross-departmental committee of Museum staff, PopRally produces dynamic programs including artist collaborations, performances, film screenings, and digital content that encourage new and experimental ways of engaging with modern and contemporary art.

Gallery activations are organized in collaboration with Recess Art, a nonprofit arts organization that supports works in progress in a public setting.
