Daniel Saldaña París with Chloé Cooper Jones: Planes Flying Over a Monster

​Author Daniel Saldaña París joins us to discuss his new book Planes Flying Over a Monster with Chloé Cooper Jones.

This event will take place in person at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library on the 1st Floor.

In ten intimate essays, Daniel Saldaña París explores the cities he has lived in, each one home to a new iteration of himself. In Mexico City he’s a young poet eager to prove himself. In Montrea —an opioid addict desperate for relief. In Madrid—a lonely student seeking pleasure in grotesque extremes. These now diverging, now coalescing selves raise questions: Where can we find authenticity? How do we construct the stories that define us? What if our formative memories are closer to fiction than truth?

At this event, writer Daniel Saldaña París will discuss his new book with Chloé Cooper Jones.

To join the event in person | Doors will open 30 minutes before the program begins. For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission. All registered seats are released shortly before start time, and seats may become available at that time. A standby line will form 30 minutes before the program.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Daniel Saldaña París is a Mexican writer based in New York and Mexico City. He is the author of the novels Among Strange Victims and Ramifications. In 2017, he was included on the prestigious Bogotá39 list.
