The Music Gallery presents
Phth + xLq
Doors 7:30pm / Concert 8pm
Adventurous new Montreal-based vocal collective Phth (Sarah Albu, David Cronkite, Gabriel Dharmoo, Kathy Kennedy, Elizabeth Lima, Vahram Sarkissian and Andrea Young) brings its mind-bending fusion of improvisation, co-composition and new music interpretation to The Music Gallery. The ensemble features some of the most adventurous vocalists in Canadian contemporary music with practices spanning from extended voice to noise, early music and experimental theatre. The group will present their daring interpretation of Claude Vivier’s “Love Songs”.
For this performance, they invite local emerging pop-art duo xLq as a guest performer.
Accessibility note:
The event's venue, 918 Bathurst, is not currently wheelchair accessible due to stairs (two half-flights to enter the performance space, and one flight to access the washrooms). Please contact the Music Gallery Executive Director for any accommodation requests you may have: kayla@musicgallery.org
