Paradigm Shift "Live Jazz Recording Concert"
Monday, July 1, 2024 7pm $20.00 ($23.40 w/online fees)
Today’s preeminent Soul Jazz trio, Paradigm Shift, has a decidedly fresh take on this famous
sound. Founders are guitarist Mel Henderson and organist Gerry Youngman, who have written
original music and fresh arrangements of classics for a worldwide audience. Now, with forward-
thinking drummer Sean Jefferson, the band continues to develop a unique sound that is
accessible, funky, and entertaining. They will be joined by two of the jazz scene’s hottest horn
players, Brian Thomas on trombone and Jared Sims on baritone sax, known for riveting
performances and funky riffs that get you off your seat.
The live recording at the concert on 1 July 2024 at the Sportsmen’s Tavern in Buffalo, NY, will
celebrate the impressive original compositions of Gerry Youngman, known for music that is
both irresistibly funky and so emotional that it connects with your soul. This historic event will
be recorded by the Sportsmen’s and produced by Al Evan Music. This session will also be
preserved on video and be a part of a documentary featuring Paradigm Shift and friends.
