El Shazly (Land of Kush) mixes seeds of traditional Egyptian music with contemporary electronic & synthesized sounds. Playing with improvised forms she builds songs full of airy mystery and languid rhythms. Khôra’s new LP “Gestures of Perception” out on Marionette sees him build a complex web of electro-acoustic rhythms that grow and mutate as sonic tidbits sway in the aural ether. An immersive organic meditation on electronic sound. Honeypaw combines ancient folk traditions with modern rhythmic sensibilities. They give these methodical mantras a new home amongst the spectral slowness of their traditional string instruments.
