On July 12, PopRally heads to Queens for a festive, genre-bending evening at Trans-Pecos in Ridgewood! Crossroads at Trans-Pecos will feature a participatory performance by ray ferreira and Miatta Kawinzi, live music by the Indo-Latin funk jam band Salsa Masala, and a pop-up with treats from Queens Night Market.
Recognized as "the world’s borough," Queens embodies the diversity and vibrancy that makes New York so special. Corona-born artist ray ferreira and collaborator Miatta Kawinzi reflect on linguistic diversity through audiovisual projections, inflection, and movement. Inspired by the bustling streets and sounds of Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, Salsa Masala will have you grooving with their hybrid blend of bachata, cumbia, bhangra, and dandiya.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and include the performance, live music, a DJ set, a cash bar, and food available for purchase by Queens Night Market.
Stay tuned for more about our next event, in Staten Island!
