Visit the Indigenous Peoples Experience on March 8 & 9 for International Women's Day programming!

Enjoy meaningful, hands-on workshops for those seeking a deeper connection to Indigenous culture, storytelling, and personal reflection.


This event includes admission to the Indigenous Peoples Experience, presentations and workshops. Admission is required to attend the event, workshops can be added to your experience. 


Event Information:

Saturday, March 8, 2025
Join us on Saturday for a hands-on exploration of Indigenous artistry and traditions. Learn the intricate craft of fish scale art and beadwork, create your own dreamcatcher, and discover the healing properties of traditional teas. Through these workshops and presentations, connect with cultural teachings that celebrate creativity, resilience, and Indigenous knowledge.

Each additional workshop will be $15.


Sunday, March 9, 2025
Join us on Sunday for a day of learning, storytelling, and cultural connection. Explore Indigenous women’s roles, cultural practices, and empowerment through shared teachings and personal stories. Experience the artistry of traditional dance and deepen your understanding of traditional medicines, their uses, and how to build a relationship with plant medicine over tea.

You are able to attend all the presentations on Sunday with the purchase of General Admission.

What age is this event for?
This event is for all ages.


Are tickets available at the gate?
A select number of tickets will be available in person, subject to availability. We recommend purchasing all workshops online prior to attending. 


Is there Food Service at Fort Edmonton Park in the Winter?
Our food outlets are closed but you are welcome to bring a lunch or snacks. Presenters will have some products available for purchase.


Where do I park?
Parking is available in Lot K, in front of the 1846 Fort, accessible via the service road.
If you have not been through the service road, please refer to Google Maps for directions - VIEW MAP HERE.


We don't recommend using the Edmonton Transit System for the Indigenous Peoples Experience as you are not able to walk on the service road to get to the exhibit. Ticket holders should arrive 15 minutes before program start time for the scheduled program start time. If you have accessibility concerns or are arriving by taxi, uber or rideshare, please send an email to info@fortedmontonpark.ca so we can help give further information. 


What to bring?
Please bring appropriate outdoor wear, as necessary. Water bottles and travel mugs are encouraged. 


Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable.
