Mayday Dance Party Reunion

16 years ago, the first Mayday was held at 123 Pleasant Street. We promoted it on Myspace, maybe even Friendster. The first Mayday in 2003 was strictly an 80s dance party, because we weren't sure anyone would want to listen to electroclash or anything new. Eventually, it grew up big and strong. The music came to include new dance music, mostly indie, dancepunk and electro, as well as old favorites. There was a FB group called 'Mayday makes me shake it like an epileptic minotaur.' We started booking bands too, local favorites like Big Ass Manatee and bands from out of town, most notably Girl Talk who always brought down the house. People moved away from Morgantown but Mayday continued with new faces for many years.

So here we are, 16 years later and still ready to party. We were asked to bring about a reunion and so we have. It's going to be real simple: no bands, no cover, no prom decorations, just DJs + dancing all night. If you're in Morgantown for Memorial Day weekend, come down to 123 and bring your dancing shoes.
