Gus (Nacho San José) asks a friend to spread the word about a birthday celebration designed to cheer up his friend Milo (Carlo D’Ursi), who is confined to a wheelchair following an accident. Soon a diverse cast of characters streams into Milo’s family mansion, complete with swimming pool. What follows is an epic party filled with romps among two, three, or several people; healthy and uninhibited polysexuality; characters that range from a gigolo to a trans drug dealer; and, of course, a foam cannon.
Director Roberto Pérez Toledo allows the party to happen but never makes it the focus of the film. Instead, we’re drawn into the often melancholy lives of people who long to connect, find lasting relationships, or mend their broken hearts. The result is a funny, emotional film where the cast is stripped bare in more ways than one.
