To Be A Library Lion: From Book to Stage
This January, the musical play "Library Lion" will premiere at Boston's Calderwood Pavilion Theatre, showcasing a life-sized lion puppet designed and crafted by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, and featuring original music by renowned Israeli composer Yoni Rechter.
The class will delve into the transformation of the beloved children's book by Michelle Knudsen into a vibrant stage production. Participants will have the unique opportunity to watch exclusive clips from the show, which premiered to great acclaim at the Boston Public Library last month.
We invite you to join a captivating conversation with the play's director and Adam Theater's artistic director, Ran Bechor. Discover the wealth of inspiration behind this production, including Bechor's profound connection to Hebrew culture and the influence of Nobel laureate Shai Agnon.
In this master class, Ran Bechor will reveal the captivating journey of his new theater initiative, which bridges American and Hebrew cultures. He will delve into his artistic and entrepreneurial decisions and explore how high-quality, professional children's theater can be brought to life using classic Jewish culture as its foundation.
More information about the production can be found here.
