His stand-out hit, “God Bless the U.S.A,” has been in the top 5 on the country singles charts 3 times, giving it the distinction of being the only song in any genre of music to achieve that feat. It reached the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart shortly after 9/11. Lee Greenwood will be joined by Traverse City's own singer/songwriter, Jim Hawley. When audiences hear Jim Hawley sing, it's obvious that he’s been doing this for awhile. When he closes his eyes and begins to sing, he reaches down somewhere deep in his heart, he pulls you in – the feeling is almost physical and you know that he has lived through the joy and the pain of love’s prism. His voice conveys emotion that stirs the soul. Jim was born in California; his music took root in coffee houses. Jim Hawley is also a veteran; he served a 4 year tour of duty in the US Navy. Jim is a singer/songwriter in the Grand Traverse Region; his is one of Traverse City’s true musical treasures. www.conundrumbooksandmusic.com
