It's back! Join us for an exclusive night of festivity and fun at the Library’s flagship location.
The Library After Hours is returning! We’re taking over the historic Stephen A. Schwarzman Building for a night of dancing, games, performances, and behind-the-scenes access to NYPL collections. As we cap off Women’s History Month, celebrate the lives and works of iconic women trailblazers.
Special access includes:
- One-night-only special collections display featuring rare books, posters, photographs, maps, and other items that shine a light on the lives and works of women throughout history
- Women’s hall of fame in the iconic Rose Main Reading Room, featuring exhibitions and activities that highlight the work of Joan Didion, Lorraine Hansberry, Marsha P. Johnson, and more—with music by harpist Kristi Shade
- Curated 16 mm films made by, for, and about women from the Library for the Performing Arts' collections
- After-hours access to the Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library’s Treasures, showcasing the most extraordinary items in our collections
- Unique library-related books and gifts in The Library Shop
Plus: Dance the night away with music by Rimarkable, find your next great read with librarian-led book matchmaking, and try your hand at games and puzzles, or relax with crafts and coloring. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.
