Event Description

How do you make a museum from scratch, particularly for something as ephemeral as food and drink? How do you design for nostrils and tongues as well as eyes and ears?

Paola Antonelli of MoMA will moderate a discussion with MOFAD's creative direction team, Labour NY (Ryan Dunn and Wyeth Hansen), and program director Emma Boast about the challenge and excitement of new experiential design.

We'll take a behind-the-scenes look at how design took MOFAD's acclaimed interactive exhibitions from dream to reality, and what they can tell us about the future of museums. Experience Flavor: Making It and Faking It and learn from the team how an old garage became New York's newest cultural institution.

Exhibition viewing and reception with light refreshments at 6 pm, followed by the panel from 7-8 pm.
