Be among the first to experience Jessica Campbell: Heterodoxy, an exhibition exploring the complex personal, political and professional relationships facilitated by the twentieth century secret radical feminist debate club named Heterodoxy. Produced in collaboration with The Fabric Workshop and Museum, this presentation will take the form of a gathering space—an interpretation of Polly’s Restaurant in Greenwich Village, NY, an early meeting place of the group—with artworks relating to the club and its members, outfitted in an immersive tufted rug environment.
Coinciding with DesignPhiladelphia, this open house event also includes opportunities to experience several exhibitions showcasing the visionary outcomes of collaborations between the FWM Studio and its Artists-in-Residence, both past and present, as well as a peek behind-the-scenes at current projects underway. Discover a sprawling sculptural environment made by artist Henry Taylor, Afrofuturist astronaut suits bearing batik-style imagery inspired by the Philadelphia Sound, instruments created with objects collected at the Mexican-American border, and limited edition works for sale created with artists like Louise Bourgeois, Sarah Sze, Richard Tuttle, and Jonathan Lyndon Chase.
