Veterans Voices: Jesse Iwuji
Veterans Voices: Jesse Iwuji, Naval Reserve Officer and NASCAR Driver
6-8 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 5
Great Hall
$10 for Museum members
$15 for non-members
Kick off Black History Month at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum at 6 p.m. on Feb. 5, when we welcome Lieutenant Commander (Select) Jesse Iwuji, U.S. Navy Reserve, and noted NASCAR driver, as our Veterans Voices series guest speaker. Iwuji will share lessons he has learned through his service in the U.S. Navy and how they have influenced his NASCAR career.
In all things Iwuji does, there are two constant elements: his love of country and his fighting spirit. He went from a D1A college football player to a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and is now the only current driver in all of NASCAR at the national level that has served in the military. It has been key for Iwuji, who is currently serving in the Navy Reserves, to honor his country while pursuing and attaining excellence. He is a champion to companies and charities that give back to our men and women in uniform. Iwuji also is a big supporter of NASCAR diversity. He was recently honored by NASCAR for the second year in a row with the Diverse Driver of the Year Award.
Inaugural Members receive discounted tickets for this special event.
