Holiday Trains to Moscow

All tickets for the Holiday Trains to Moscow are now SOLD OUT. There are still a limited amount of tickets remaining for our Sunday, December 6 Train to Christmas' Past. We thank everyone for their support of our operation, and look forward to seeing you again next year!

Steamtown National Historic Site, in partnership with the Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society and the Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Railway Historical Society, will be running special round-trip excursions on Friday, November 27, Saturday, November 28 and Saturday, December 5, 2015 between Steamtown NHS and the historic Moscow, PA station. 

Enjoy a train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars from Scranton to the historic Moscow train station. While there, the L&WV Railway Historical Society will entertain you and your family with fun activities to celebrate the holiday season. Passengers will be able to tour the former passenger and freight depots at Moscow, and take photos with the train crew and Santa. Hot Dogs, hot chocolate and snacks will be available for purchase. After visiting the station, climb back aboard the train for the return trip to Scranton.

Each family will receive a small gift at the Moscow Station. The Family Claim Check ticket is required to receive this gift (one per family), so please include it in your cart and bring it along with your boarding ticket. 

Passengers wishing to visit Steamtown NHS before or after their Holiday Train rides will need to pay a separate entrance fee of $7 for adults 16 and over.

Each rider age 4 and up must purchase a ticket. There is no smoking on the train. 

Station & Parking Information

Trains will depart from the Steamtown NHS passenger platform. Free parking is available at the Cliff Street lot within the park. 

Departure Times

Two departure times per day are available, at 9:30am and 1:30pm. Please be at the platform 30 minutes prior to departure. Round trip time, which includes a layover at the station, for each trip is approximately 4 hours.

Seating & Pricing

Coach Seating is available in the Society's climate-controlled Dieseliner cars.

Coach seating fares:

Table Seating is available in the Phoebe Snow Dining Car for parties of four or more (four seats per table):

Phoebe Snow Diner Seating SOLD OUT for 11/27 AM, both 11/28, and both 12/5 trains

Private seating is available on the Pullman sleeper, City of Lima, in a bedroom suite (seats four)

Ticketing Options

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or over the telephone by calling 1-888-718-4253 ext.1. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase the day of the trips on the platform before the train departs.
