Come see the colorful, salty speech of a bourbon-drinking Baptist who said, "The buck stops here," I am tired of babysitting the Soviets," and "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen."
Give 'Em Hell, Harry! is a faithful and often humorous play about our 33rd US president, Harry S. Truman. This one-man show is coming to The Old Theater for two performances, August 26 and 27, a unique portrayal of Truman's life and presidency, written by Samuel Gallu and performed by Truman's oldest grandson, Clifton Truman Daniel.
As an actor, Mr. Daniel appeared in a dozen productions with Wilmington's Opera House Theater Company and on TV in episodes of Matlock and Touched by an Angel. In 2017, he portrayed his grandfather in eight shows at Thalian Center for the Performing Arts in Wilmington. Seven shows were produced in the Ruth and Bucky Stein Theater.
Tickets are $35 and will be available to purchase by the general public on July 17. Old Theater membeers can reserve tickets by calling 252-249-0477 during the week of July 10-16 and picking them up at Nautical Wheelers in Oriental and in New Bern.
