Build your own custom fishing rod with step-by-step instruction from Chuck DeRemer of Chuck's Custom Rods (Fargo, ND). This opportunity is for anyone over the age of 14 (age 12 if participant is registering with a parent/guardian).The $250 registration includes basic rod materials in addition to breakfast and lunch on Saturday; all other meals, snacks and beverages are on your own. Optional upgrades for custom rods will be available for additional fees, which can be chosen and paid for onsite.
Schedule for the event will include working on Friday evening (roughly 6p-9p) and Saturday (roughly 9a-5p). Rods will need to spin overnight on Saturday for drying process and can be picked up right away on Sunday morning (around 8a). Event will take place in the dining hall located near the entrance of the park.
Ticket sales are final, no exceptions. If you have registered, but are no longer able to attend you can send a replacement as long as prior notification is given via emailing aschimetz@nd.gov. Any participants that do not attend will waive their full registration amount. If, for whatever reason, Lake Metigoshe State Park needs to cancel, full refunds will be provided.
Lodging is available onsite as there are full service, semi-primitive and primitive cabins available onsite in addition to a semi-primitive yurt. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-807-4723 or by visiting www.parkrec.nd.gov. Prices range from $60-$115/night. Park visitors staying onsite in either the cabins or yurt need to bring their own pillows, bedding, towels/washcloths and personal toiletries.
