Fiddler on the Roof

In the musical, Tevye is the guide and narrator of his story of living in rural Russia in a small Jewish town. Here, he is raising five daughters. Although, it is a Jewish custom for a matchmaker to choose husbands for the daughters, his daughters have other ideas in mind. Three of the five daughters, each falls in love with a man that doesn't quite fit the image Tevye had in mind. However, love does win overall. In the midst the love triangles, Tevye is concerned about the war in his town as the Russian tsar, the ruler of Russia, is trying to run out all Jewish people from the country. Throughout the musical, Tevye examines his Jewish belief's and questions how he can walk the pathway of his faith when the world around him is changing.
