Ed Croft Trio

The Ed Croft Trio feat. Nelson Rivera and Joe Goretti. Comprised of Ed Croft (Bass), Nelson Rivera (Sax/Percussion), and Joe Goretti (Drums), this ensemble has become a favorite of the local jazz scene. Influenced by the great "chord-less" trios of Sonny Rollins, Elvin Jones, and Steve Grossman, the group uses this instrumentation to full advantage, allowing for contrapuntal interplay that takes the harmonic "scenic route". This allows the bass, drums, and sax to react to and interact with each other. Expect to hear classic jazz standards, along with tunes from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Wonder.
