Event Description

In this installment of our monthly “Drink and Draw” series of life drawing classes, sketch from live models and enjoy musical sets and drag shows in honor of Brooklyn Pride.

Sip and sketch in our backyard biergarten this summer with a monthly series of life drawing classes, open to all levels and accompanied by a refreshing beverage and musical vibes by local DJs. In June, celebrate the arts of drawing and drag in honor of Brooklyn Pride with Bushwig, Brooklyn’s premiere festival that amplifies emerging talent in the drag community. Sketch from live models and experiment with watercolor and crayon, as well as new approaches to the human form, in a casual class led by teaching artist Shauna Woods Gonzalez. Then, enjoy musical sets and shows by some of NYC’s best drag queens organized by Horrorchata, mother of the house of Bushwig.

This event takes place outdoors. In case of inclement weather, we will notify participants 24 hours in advance with the option to join us on an alternate date. We’re following procedures and guidelines laid out by the CDC and local health officials, including practicing social distancing for all activities. Masks are required for all adults and children over the age of 2. Indoor restrooms will be available.

Tickets are $30 and include after-hours admission to The Slipstream: Reflection, Resilience, and Resistance in the Art of Our Time, art materials in your own Brooklyn Museum tote, and a complimentary drink. Member tickets are $25. Not a Member? Join today!
