Train to Christmas Past at Gouldboro

The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society, in cooperation with the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad and the Wayne County Historical Society, will be running special round-trip excursions on Sunday, November 29 and Sunday, December 6, 2015 between Scranton and Gouldsboro.

Enjoy a train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars from Scranton out to Gouldsboro and return. The train will stop at the historic Gouldsboro station for every one to have the opportunity to explore the restored station. At the station, passengers will enter the Dickensian world of A Christmas Carol with volunteers dressed in period-authentic costumes, featuring stories, caroling, and a visit from Santa, Scrooge, and his ghostly visitors. Hot beverages and food will also be available for purchase.

On November 29, the Lenoxville Community Band will be performing a special brass concert at Gouldsboro for our passengers. On December 6, the Holiday concert will be performed by the Brass Reflections band.

Each rider age 4 and up must have a ticket. There is no smoking on the train.

Station & Parking Information

Trains will depart from the University of Scranton's Poly-Hi Solidur Park parking lot at 1301 Ridge Row, Scranton, PA 18510.

Departure Times

The train will depart from Scranton at 2:00PM. Please be at the platform 30 minutes prior to departure.

Coach Seating is available in the Society's climate-controlled Dieseliner cars.

Table Seating is available in the Phoebe Snow Diner for parties of four or more (four seats per table):

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or over the telephone by calling 1-888-718-4253 ext. 1. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase the day of the trips on the platform before the train departs.
