The Shadows-on-the-Teche invites you to a night of architecture, drinks, and food. The night begins with the opening of the exhibit "Deconstructing the Shadows-on-the-Teche" and a short talk by Olivia Johnson, Shadows’ Summer Research Intern. Johnson will explore the journey her research took while writing and organizing “Deconstructing the Shadows-on-the-Teche” and delve into the minds of David and Mary Weeks as the two were designing The Shadows. Johnson will discuss other homes of influence to the couple, the influence of the builders, and evidence of other sites the Weeks family may have designed.
Afterward, walk through The Shadows for the inaugural tour of “Deconstructing the Shadows-on-the-Teche,” which focuses on the architectural transformation of the site from 1830 to the present. Finish the night watching twilight set over The Shadows gardens while enjoying drinks and food.
The program begins at the Shadows Visitor Center, which is located at 320 E. Main Street. After the presentation, the group will cross Main Street for the tour of The Shadows.
All funds raised from this event will help to support the ongoing preservation and maintenance of The Shadows-on-the-Teche.
