Dark Shadows Cemetery Vault Tour 2025

Your Dark Shadows Weekend at Lyndhurst Mansion would not be complete without a visit to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery!

In the 1970 movie House of Dark Shadows, handyman Willie Loomis breaks in to the Collins family burial vault, opens an ancient coffin and inadvertently awakens vampire Barnabas Collins once again! Did you know this classic scene was filmed in the cemetery's Receiving Vault?

Don't miss the chance to go inside the vault - if you dare! The Receiving Vault has a spooky history of its very own and DS fans are sure to love this side trip just 10 minutes north of Lyndhurst on Route 9/Broadway.

Dates: Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th, 2025.

Start Times: 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on both days.

Length: Tour is about 30 minutes.

Cost: $5 per person which goes directly towards preserving the monuments and memorials here. 

Location: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery SOUTH GATE, 430 North Broadway.

Parking:  There is plenty of free parking inside the gate.

Skill level: There is a hill, some stairs and grassy, unpaved gravel roads. There is no place to sit down once the tour starts. Please consider your own abilities before purchasing tickets.   

Refunds, exchanges: All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless the tour is canceled.

Weather: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery tours run rain or shine. If the tour is canceled due to severe weather such as high winds or lightning, we will promptly issue a refund.  Cancellations will be posted at least one hour before tour time on our website and social media.  We will also contact you via the email and phone number provided during the purchase process.
