Dan has toured as a national headliner, and also as an opener for Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt. His CDs Ocean of Panic, Tendrils of Ruin, and Fossil Record enjoy the status of iTunes bestsellers.
Dan has performed at every comedy festival from SF Sketchfest to the Bridgetown Comedy Festival. He was selected to perform at the Chicago Just For Laughs Festival's Best of the Fest show, the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival's Talk of the Fest show, and the coveted New Faces of Comedy showcase of both festivals. He was the winner of Chicago's Snubfest competition and was named one of San Francisco Sketchfest's Sketchfest Dozen. Starting with Chicago and continuing in LA, he has had the distinct pleasure of teaching at The Second City for over 10 years. But he is perhaps known best for his stand-up chunk "The Best Dinosaur," which became a runaway viral video hit and earned him an internet following.
"I love Dan Telfer. He is wonderful. He is like a goofier, smarter, funnier, taller, me with glasses. And male parts." -Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite, Arrested Development)
"Of all the performers I've known over the years, Dan Telfer, more than any of them, seems the most compelled to do stand-up comedy. And I don't think it's because of some deep-seated need for attention, or because he's seeking love from strangers that was denied him as a child; I think he needs to do stand-up comedy because he can't be alone with his own thoughts. Coincidentally, he's hilarious." -Paul F. Tompkins (Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, Bojack Horseman)
"Dan Telfer’s comedy is a feat of improv, stand-up, and lightning fast synapses." – Chicago Tribune
"His laid-back demeanor often seems to inadvertently invite audience participation- something the comedian deftly swats." – The A.V. Club
