TOWN HALL MEETING: Arts and the Fall Election 2016
Arts and Arts Education are a primary concern for many of us in California and this Fall's general election promises to be of historic importance for our state and our country. Find out where the candidates stand on the arts. Learn about the potential impact of California ballot measures on arts in our schools and our communities. Whether you are involved in the arts as an artist, administrator, advisor, volunteer, board member, teacher, parent or business person, don't miss this opportunity to make an informed decision when you cast your vote. Candidate and ballot measure campaign representatives will be present to share their views, answer your questions and respond to your comments.
Candidates for the California State Assembly and California State Senate and US Congress from Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado counties have been invited and will be in attendance for this lively discussion on what is at stake!
MODERATOR: Tim Foster is the Executive Director of Open California, the nonprofit organization that publishes Capitol Weekly, the Roundup and Capitol Weekly’s Top 100. Tim has worked in publishing and media for over 25 years including nearly a decade with California Journal. In 2005 he joined Capitol Weekly, overseeing the development of a wide variety of projects including Midtown Monthly magazine, the California Conference series, and in conjunction with the California Channel, Politics on Tap. In 2012 he, along with John Howard and Kathy Brown, co-founded Open California to continue the important public policy work done by Capitol Weekly.
