What every Playwright and Theatre General Manager Needs to Know about Theatre Commission and Production Agreements 


With M.J. Bogatin, Esq.

This workshop will cover the critical issues in theatrical commission and production agreements, from the scope of production option and subsidiary rights reasonably expected on a commission, to Playwright copyright, royalties and continuing publishing and licensing interests.



  • What are the key considerations for each party to dramatic commission and production agreements.

  • What are the industry standards on royalties, subsidiary and residual rights on commission and/or premiere productions.

  • Real production rights agreement examples will be reviewed.
